Ivo Varbanov and the sire are like fish and water – it is natural for them to be together. The wine-enthusiast-pianist is one of the most interesting images in Bulgarian wine-making. Ivo is a man with a taste for quality stuff, and this is evident both in his main profession as a piano player and in his passionate hobby – wine production. There is no way to overlook any of his guilt, which is always special, always in small series and always well thought out. Dedicated to music and wine, Ivo Varbanov baptized every wine of his favorite musical work. The Syrah Feux d’artifice was named after Igor Stravinsky’s early composition (1908), written on the occasion of the wedding of daughter of Nikolay Rimsky-Korsakov (Nadeja married Maximilian Steinberg only a few days before her father left this world, but that’s another story).
Very lively, impenetrable, ink purple color. Intense, very sophisticated, initially-liqueur nose with notes of cream-de-cassis, apricot, licorice, ink, vanilla, croissant with butter and coconut. A luscious, powerful, velvety smooth body with excellent, mature tannins and a very long, herbal-herbal finish. Noble, a “sympathetic” sister of remarkable potential! (2015-2020). 3600 bottles.
